Welcome back to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.
Sometimes we live in the same place where we were born and remain there all of our lives.
Sometimes we move away and never come back because of jobs, marriage, circumstances of all kinds.
Sometimes we choose where we will live and we have definite reasons for staying there even though we might be far from family.
1. Are you far from family and if so why? Would you like to have them closer and have you discussed that with them? I live 20 miles from *opposite directions* from both brothers, and both nieces. I have cousins all over the United States. I am closer to my family than 3 yrs ago.
2. How did you come to live in the state you are in? How about the city/town.
I was born and raised in OK, have lived in TX, CA, and KS always returned back to OK The town that I live in is where I lived as a child.
3. What good things keep you living where you are? Being close to family and living in a small rural town.
What's good about your state and town? OK is known for OIL, My town is the hay capital of OK and means Black Fox in Cherokee OK over all is still a how ya doing kind of state.
4. What things might convince you to move to another state or just another town? It wouldn't take much persuading for me to move back to South TX *Corpus Christi, to be exact* that was one of the happiest times of my life. My nieces and great nephews and niece keep me parked here

I'd love to visit Oklahoma one day. It would be nice if you could move back to Corpus Christi. Maybe some of your family would also like to move there. That would be ideal.
ReplyDeleteOH it would be wonderful! OK is a great state, all but the tornadoes. My family wouldn't ever consider moving * I was/ am the adventurer
DeleteDuring the dust bowl people left OK in droves but now so many are moving there and just love it. As I mentioned to someone else, home is where the heart is! Thank you so much for joining in!
ReplyDeleteisn't that crazy? people wanted out of here and now returning :) YES I agree Home is here in Oklahoma! thanks for stopping by
DeleteBeing near family is a real blessing as we age, and especially if we are alone. But we have to be happy where we are, and sometimes that means moving to a place that better meets our needs. Always pray before moving and God will definitely guide you.
ReplyDeleteHi Sweet lady :) I pray daily, for guidance, where I am supposed to be. I have lived away from family when my parents were living and it just never felt right....however I felt good living in the warmer climate..
DeleteJust found your blog on Tuesday4. I live in Oklahoma but am a Native Texan who always wants to go "home". I live on the other side of Oklahoma but it's always nice to find a "neighbor".
ReplyDeleteGrace & Peace,
Pam
Thank you for stopping by :) I love TX all of my mothers family live in East TX not far from Tyler. I live approx 25 miles E of downtown.. Likewise howdy "neighbor"
DeleteThat's a beautiful picture. I live in N.C. on my family farm. This farm is the place where my grandma lived. I don't live in her house, but I have a single-wide trailer in her yard. Being here makes me feel closer to her. Even though she passed away several years ago
ReplyDeleteI would love living on my grandparents or parents place talk about the memories :) thank you for stopping by. I live across the street from where I grew up

A brother and sister two hours away. mA friend just moved to OK to be close to her daughter & kids and than her youngest son joined them. They love it. Says a lot about your state. Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful weekend.

DeletePardon my precious spelling error. Sometime I hit send too quickly. But my friend Bonnie moved to OK as well as her son Zach. They are close to her youngest daughter & her kids and spouse.
ReplyDeleteThose were really interesting questions and good answers too. I ended up in South Carolina after a blizzard in West Virginia, I was tired of dealing with the snow and ice.
ReplyDeletethank you so very much
DeleteI sometime feel nostalgic for my hometown and so at the moment I'm contemplating a bit of a holiday there - but it might have to wait until next year now. Enjoyed your blog :)
ReplyDeleteI get so sad when I drive by my old homeplace they do not keep the yard up and letting the house run down
